Cypress Soroptimist to collect socks on Festival Day

Soroptimist International of Cypress will be hosting a “SOCK DRIVE” at the 38th annual Cypress Community Festival, July 28, 2018, all day. A few years ago, the club hosted a pasta drive to help the White House Restaurant in Anaheim feed children after school with more than 1,000 pounds of pasta. This year the club is supporting Cypress Children’s Advocacy Council (CCAC) with SOCKS; plain white no-show SOCKS in all sizes.

CCAC provides New School Shoes to students through their participation at Club King, an afterschool program provided by Cypress Boys & Girls Club at King School. To enhance the New School Shoe experience SI Cypress wants to make sure the students have New SOCKS to go with those Shoes.

Members of SI Cypress will be collecting SOCKS and sharing information about the local club, Soroptimist International of the Americas and Soroptimist International the global service organization umbrella based on the principals of striving for the advancement of the status of women, high ethical standards, human rights for all; quality and development, and the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace.

For each pair of SOCKS donated you will be entered in to a drawing for a Pair of Tickets to Transylvania Quartermania, SI Cypress’s Fall Fundraiser. Funds raised support Soroptimist signature educational programs “Live Your Dream” and “Dream It Be It”, as well Boys & Girls Club of Cypress “Smart Girls” and so much more.
